Washington Mutual sucks... So I, Josh, moved in January to Fort Greene. I called my somewhat trusty, yet always scheming bank, Washington Mutual to notify them of my new address. I never mentioned that my business account is with WAMU. I just gave them my personal account info and old address. Done, no problem. A week later I make a purchase with Seaside's debit card: it's rejected because the address is wrong!? I wasn't informed of this for a few days of course and the item didn't get shipped. That sucked. I find out, call WAMU and they tell me that Seaside's address has changed. No it HASN'T! I inform them of this and I'm told the address has been changed back.

This is crazy. The studio deals with a lot more money than I do and this just screams security problem to me. We decide to switch to a new bank soon. In the meantime I get our new statements at my personal address! I call WAMU. "Oh it can take 5 days for an address change to go through"!!! EVEN though I was obviously very agitated and concerned the first time I called no one thought it important enough to rush this?? Damn people... THEN what's even more disturbing to me is Seaside's PHONE bill arrives at my new address! I never talked to the phone company at all! How the Hell did they get my new incorrect address?

We're switching to a new local bank. We called the branch(!) and spoke directly to a manager(!) and they'll even call us when we overdraft (we love overdrafting.) So, the moral is screw WAMU, and just about all other big banks and be careful with your information. Everyone else is obviously not...
